Gilrace Masonry Inc. completed a full structural masonry repair and brick restoration project in Boston, MA, correcting severe brick failure caused by deteriorated steel lintels and long-term water intrusion.

Our team installed NEW structural steel lintels above window openings to restore proper load-bearing support. We then performed full brick replacement and masonry rebuild, carefully matching the existing structure. All surrounding areas were machine ground and professionally repointed, creating tight, weather-resistant joints built to withstand harsh New England conditions.

To permanently eliminate water infiltration issues, we installed stainless steel through-wall flashing, properly integrated into the wall system to direct moisture out and protect the structure. We also installed a new downspout and drainage system, preventing future saturation and extending the life of the building.

This project required precision work in a tight urban environment, utilizing aerial lift equipment and working around mounted mechanical units while maintaining structural stability throughout the repair process.
